The Rogue is a great phone for the price (now $79). There are a few things that would make the phone excellent, but nothing that should be a deal breaker for those looking for a similar phone. For the people who complain about having to get a data package; you shouldn't get this phone if you aren't going to use the data options. Get an LG Touch or similar instead.

The Rogue has a user friendly touch screen with easily customizable widgets. You can leave the widgets on the widget bar or drag them anywhere on the screen that you want to put them.

Call quality is good along with a nice option called whisper mode in which when activated you can talk softly and the person on the other end can hear you clearly.

There is a nice notification bar which shows you if you have a message, calendar event, missed call, if the speaker is on and if a silent or vibrate mode is activated.

The tools are nice including a stopwatch and countdown timer. Of course there is the alarm with a motion detector allowing you to snooze the alarm by turning the phone face down. (The motion detector also allows you to silent an incoming call by turning the phone over). There is also a calculator, notepad, sketch pad, world clock, and file viewer. The file viewer allows you to put files on the sd card and look at them, however you cannot download/view email attachments.

The 3.5mm jack is nice. You no longer need to buy those silly adaptors to plug your headphones in. The music sounds nice through the speaker also, and you can actually load music onto the sd card and then load them onto the phone instead of having to put them on vcast music on your computer and then synching.

The calendar could be better. First, there is currently to synch option to synch it with your desktop, etc. Also, you cannot have no alert; you can either choose tone, vibrate, or light only. And you can't choose no alert time, just on time, and several before time choices. Finally, the recurrence doesn't allow for bi-weekly, or daily for a few days.

The customizable fonts are nice. The qwerty keyboard is great. The battery life is just fine unless watching tons of videos or playing a lot of games, in which any battery is going to die faster. The vcast videos play awesome. Youtube is ok but a little off on video/audio. Games are cool (demo parts I played).

The lock for the screen is to puch the lock button twice, the lock button then the on screen lock button, or any side button then the lock or screen lock button. Anyway it is a two step unlock and so far I have not had any pocket dials.

The camera is sharp and there is a video editing wizard.
The browser is quick and allows for multiple windows to be open.
I don't like that there is no charging screen option; the screen just goes dark. Would be nice if you could have a clock displayed or slideshow or some other option.

Overall this is a great phone for what it is for with a few minor things that could be better. The price is down to $79 and this is a great phone for that price.

i agree this is an awesome phone except for those few things you mentioned about the calender, also it would be nice if the data plan was optional. i got this phone because i think its better and has more cool features than the enV Touch, which i didnt like at all for some reason. (i didnt know about the whisper mode thing you mentioned which is really cool)    very informative review

The phone is the smartest "dumbphone" that I looked at.  The only false advertisement I see is that the screen is not 3.1" in browser mode. You seem to lose almost 1/2 inch with the side menu...does anyone know how to get this off if possible.  The phone has lots of bells and whistles, but I still second guessed about returning it for a droid or similar phone.  But in the end, a smart phone plan would cost $15 extra a month over my unlimited data plan.  Over 2 years that would buy a couple zune hd or Ipod touch without the smartphone plan, which can run "nearly" as nice as a smartphone.

Technically the screen IS a full 3.1" in any mode you use it, since the menus are part of the info displayed.  No real false advertisement.  If you want to view the screen in it's full width, all you have to do is to tap the icon in the lower left of your browser to make the right side menu disappear from the screen.

I really enjoy this phone. The only thing which I don't like is the touch to unlock. I would rather have a slide instead. Also, I wish the phone had a few more theme options and font options. Other than that I love this phone. I had only LG phones until I found this phone.

I love this phone.  A couple of things I would change...Widgets should be more customizable.  I would like to have a widget that takes me directly to my music and one for my pics (the picture widget is not the same as going in to view your pics from the media center). Also, would like to have the option to keep the notification bar there all the time, even when I don't have a notification - it's the easiest way to turn on the speakerphone - and don't get me started on how much of a pain it is to switch to speaker once you have started a call.

I would recommend this phone for anyone who is shopping for a new phone.  Great for calls, messaging and browsing the net.  Love it.

I really enjoy this phone. The only thing which I don't like is the touch to unlock. I would rather have a slide instead.
Sliding my Rogue open unlocks everything, which is my only qualm about this phone. I've *Almost* bottom dialed people while driving and, have answered phone calls received because the sliding unlocks the phone completely and auto-answers.
Also, would like to have the option to keep the notification bar there all the time, even when I don't have a notification - it's the easiest way to turn on the speakerphone - and don't get me started on how much of a pain it is to switch to speaker once you have started a call.
On the right hand side of the phone, there are four buttons. First one is the lock, second is voice commands, attached to the second button is another button which turns on/off speaker, last is for camera. Sliding the phone open also turns on speaker when in-call.

My review: I *Love* this phone. I've had absolutely no problems with this other than my big behind unlocking the screen (As previously mentioned in this post) so, I just don't sit on my phone any more. The only other problem I've had was my background was on SDcard, along with thousands of other pics, so it wouldn't read the background fast enough and reset to default. A simple move from card to phone solved that issue, which was my fault not the phone's.

I would prefer some customizations of apps. I don't mind the calendar colours but, would prefer to change them. Same for the clock, alarms, etc but, they're no big deal. I upgraded from a Razr to the Rogue and, boy, what a change.

I agree with the data-plan being optional. I picked the Rogue because the reviews were better than the enV Touch, the specs were better, in general the Rogue is a better choice. I could deal with the data-plan, not that I hardly use it.

I highly recommend this phone. 10/10
